Welcome to Thurles Greyhound Stadium, this very impressive venue provides excitement filled nights both on and off the track.
Thurles Greyhound Stadium plays host to many great evenings and presents itself to the public with fantastic facilities for greyhound racing with platforms for trainers, owners and breeders to showcase their dogs.
Management are also proud of their ability to cater for parties, Hens & Stags nights, weddings, charity nights, fundraising events and celebrations of all kinds.
The Stadium comprises of two spacious bars with adequate access to the bookmakers and the track side, it also offers a comfortable upstairs restaurant fitted with a glass front so you can enjoy each race clearly in the company of friends and work colleagues while appreciating the serving of fine food and drinks.
Live racing from Shelbourne Park can be viewed on many T.V screens throughout the building. All this combined with the thrill of a responsible flutter on the mobile computerised tote which is brought right to your table by staff makes this vibrant venue a must for all your nights out or party events.

Betting a responsible wager on a dog on our Tote facilities is a great way to experience the excitement of the night. There are different types of bets you can place ranging from a single win to a Jackpot. Here are the most common type of bets placed each night.
Win - Your dog must finish first in the race.
Place - Your dog must finish first or second in the race
Each way - This is a win bet and a place bet combined, e.g. €2 each-way bet will cost you €4 (€2 to win and €2 to place). You pick one greyhound and your selection must finish either first or second. If your greyhound finishes first you collect from both your win and your place bet. If your selection finishes second then you collect only from the place portion of your bet.
Forecast - Picking two greyhounds to finish first and second in that exact order.
Reverse Forecast - your choices can be first and second in either order.
Forecast all-ways - Select three or more greyhounds, of which two must finish first or second in any order.
Trio - Select three greyhounds to finish first, second and third in the correct order.
Trio all-ways - Select three greyhounds to finish first, second and third in any order.
Dog with the Field - Select a dog to finish 1st and any of the rest of the field can finish 2nd & 3rd. ( Minimum cost €20)
Jackpots - There are two types of Jackpot bet available, the Pick 4 and the Pick 6 jackpot. While the jackpot races are only run at either Shelbourne Park (Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday) or Harolds Cross (Monday, Tuesday and Friday) every track in Ireland has the facility for patrons to bet into these jackpots.
Pick 4 Jackpot - Select a greyhound to finish first in each of 4 selected races i.e. races 7..8..9..10.
Pick 6 Jackpot - Select a greyhound to finish first in each of 6 selected races i.e. races 5..6..7..8..9..10. You may also select multiple greyhounds in all Jackpot bets. Minimum Stakes Win & Place Pools €2.00

Thurles Greyhound Track provides racing every Saturday night commencing at 8pm with live racing from Shelbourne Park broadcast on screens positioned throughout the building. In recent years it has undergone extensive refurbishment with significantly enhanced facilities for your comfort and enjoyment.
Some of the big races staged at the track are The Tipperary Cup, The Kasco Cup, The Champion Bitch Stakes, Track Supporters Stakes all of which provide nights of entertainment and adrenalin.

Very successful Greyhound Sales are held on a monthly basis so for upcoming sales information please call the office. Unofficial dog trials (booking advised) take place on Monday, Friday and Saturday of each week with official trials on a Monday evening between 3.30pm and 5pm and also after the last race on Saturday nights. Last weigh in at 4.45pm
