A trouble free tree, the flowers are self-fertile and the fruit is very easy to pick, just spread a sheet below the branches when the fruit is ripe and shake the fruit off. The fruit can be used for jam, jellies or wine or best of all, eat it fresh. The tree can grown up to 20ft in height and width. The Black Mulberry can be grown as a beautiful specimen, all year-round, with its gnarled branches in winter, and handsome leaves in summer.
Please note: The Mulberry produces berries when the tree is seven years old and they look rather like a loganberry.
