BMCD Safety Training is based in Co. Cork and is run by Barry McDermott who is a qualified level 6 QQI training instructor and has 8 years experience working as a strength and conditioning coach. I provide manual handling, working at heights and abrasive wheel training courses around North Cork.

My Manual Handling Training Course will cover a wide range of industries, like construction sites, organisations, manufacturing, the care industry, hotels, offices and factories. The course will not only focus on manual handling and lifting techniques, it will also cover the process of risk assessment and the reduction of manual handling activities. It will also teach you to have the knowledge and understanding to find hazards in any of the workplaces, giving an informed decision about the tasks that will be undertaken.

Working at heights training course: Fee €90.
 
This Working at Height training course, helps you to comply with the Work at Height Regulations 2005. This course provides employers and employees with the necessary information needed to be able to successfully deal with, working at height risks and control measures. This course is designed to give participants an awareness of the dangers of working at heights.
 
Learning outcomes: The course covers the following topics.
  • Regulatory requirements.
  • Employer/employee responsibilities.
  • Safe use of ladders.
  • Roof work.
  • Risk assessment procedures.
  • Fall protection equipment.

On successful completion of this training course candidates will be awarded with BMCD Training certificate valid for 3 years.

  • Be able to select the appropriate wheel use.
  • Be able to inspect and recognise damaged wheels.
  • Be able to mount an abrasive wheel.
  • Understand the hazards and risks when using abrasive wheels.

  • Identifying the hazards working with abrasive wheels.
