  • Printed Concrete

Pattern Imprinted Concrete is a highly innovative method of stamping the surface of freshly poured ready mixed concrete to simulate the look of cobbles,  brick, slate, tile & stone.

A specially formulated, high strength, fibre entrained concrete mix is poured on site, dry shake colour hardener is then floated into the surface & imprinted  to give an individual & beautiful appearance to every installation.

Pattern Imprinted Concrete is tough and durable therefore holding its look for many years. It is virtually maintenance free. Unlike other types of paving it  does not sink or spread. It is weed free and will not melt on a hot day. It does not crumble or become loose nor will it fade as the colour and sealer are UV  resistant.  The colour will not fade as we use a colour surface hardener (CSH). This is trowelled into the concrete surface while wet and doubles the strength of the  concrete surface.

    Wallcrete

Wallcrete is a lightweight plaster which can be applied to most existing surfaces. It can be printed with any colour and pattern of your choice. Wallcrete is suitable for interior and exterior walls.  An existing wall transformed with Wallcrete makes such a difference to any home. We offer a wide variety of design styles to suit any property, be it modern or traditional.

Wallcrete has been specifically designed to recreate the natural products used in traditional methods of walling and construction. It can be used internally or externally, and applied to almost any clean, debris-free surface: wood, concrete, drywall, ceramic, fibreglass, linoleum, glass and many others.

But the real beauty of Wallcrete is the vast range of effects that can be created by an expert tradesperson experienced in working with this unique and exciting material.

With the intelligent use of a wide variety of pigments, the creative application of a ‘design stamper’ and a little judicious hand carving, Wallcrete can be made to look like practically any surface – natural stone, brick, exotic rock, slate, granite, sandstone – in almost any style, from the rough and rustic to the slick and modern.

The effects are utterly realistic.  Some of the typical uses for Wallcrete are:-  Internal and External walls -  External Cladding for Houses -  Boundary Walls -  Garden Sheds and Buildings -  Garden Walls -  Internal Walls -  Fireplace Surrounds -  Fish Ponds -  Dog Kennels -  Coping Stones, Lintels, Cornerstones and Archways

    Why choose Pattern Imprinted Concrete?

Pattern Imprinted Concrete is tough and durable therefore holding its look for many years. It is virtually maintenance free. Unlike other types of paving it  does not sink or spread. It is weed free and will not melt on a hot day. It does not crumble or become loose nor will it fade as the colour and sealer are UV  resistant.

How often do I have to reseal the concrete?

Like everything this depends on usage. Generally every 3-5 years. This is a very simple process and can be easily carried out by the customer.

How deep is the concrete poured?

Concrete is poured to a minumum of 100mm deep (4") - this is suitable for everyday traffic e.g. cars and small lorries. For heavier traffic we recommend  150mm deep (6"). For areas constantly used by heavy traffic e.g. roads we recommend 200mm deep (8").

    What strength concrete is used?

We use a reinforced air entrained 320 concrete mix design which increased to 400 during winter months.

Is it necessary to cut joints in the concrete?

Yes. We recommend cutting joints at regular intervals. These are cut to a depth of 25% of the concrete slab. The reason for this is to reduce the chance of  cracks occurring and should a crack appear it will follow the direction of the weakened points so that the crack rarely becomes visible.

Can I use my driveway while the work is being carried out?

We aim to create as little disturbance to you as is possible. When the ground has been prepared it is normally okay to park in your driveway. When the  concrete is poured and printed we recommend it is left 48 hours before being used (depending on weather). When the surface is sealed it must be allowed to  fully dry before being used, this depends on the weather e.g. 2 hours to a full day.

Does Allcrete work all year through?

Yes. Although during the winter months the process can take longer.

    Can I power-wash my driveway?

Yes. As often as you like after the sealer has been applied.

Will the colour fade over time?

No. The colour will not fade as we use a colour surface hardener (CSH). This is trowelled into the concrete surface while wet and doubles the strength of the  concrete surface. However the sealer does wear off over time so the colour might appear to have faded. This can be instantly restored to it's pristine  condition by simply applying a fresh coat of sealer.

How many patterns and colours are available?

There are currently over 25 patterns and 25 colours. These can be mixed in any way to give numerous variations. See Patterns and Colours.
