Offering sessional Kindergarten at Land of the Living Heart and always understanding that in the early years children are forming physically and live very much in their imagination - this great capacity to enter into imaginative pictures and stories is a good place to begin the process of learning.
Free, creative play allows the children enter into a world of discovery and self education.
At Land of the Living Heart I will provide rhythmically structured play in an environment that will nurture the children's imagination.
Using a rich supply of natural materials, the activities for early years+ are based on the home & garden and will include the following:
sweeping - gardening - building - weaving - caring for the environment - singing - listening to stories - baking - helping to prepare the meal table - cutting fruit - painting - drawing & crafting and felting.

Textile art work @ Land of the Living Heart.
This is my own personal work- a collection of felt pieces inspired by the ancient and mystical ritual of our Celtic culture- using vibrant colours and blends of Marino wool, silks, linen and other natural fibres.The use of colour is with the intent of reflecting the magnificence of the Irish dance robes.
My most recent work finds fascination in the layering of different fibers together, forming texture and movement in the pieces. Commission work welcome.

Children in their first seven years are forming physically and live very much in their imagination, working close to nature in a creative way is great preparation for self realising adult life. At our kindergarten we will have lots of outdoor activities, the children will work closely with nature using lots of natural materials . We will learn to relate socially with our peers through meeting and Working imaginatively together. Understanding that preparation and tidy up is part of our daily routine the children will be encouraged to take part and help each other, gaining vital interpersonal skills.
Children will have the opportunity to experience different crafts including -painting, collage, felting, clay work, wax modelling, decoupage, sculpting, papier-mâché, finger knitting.
Out door activities : exploring, gardening, games ,sports, water play, mud garden- Story telling, puppet shows, finger games and dramatic movement.
Chill out zones in our developing woodland area, poly tunnel, teepee and outdoor classroom.
