Based in Carlow, Guthrie Wood Craft and Design operate from a small workshop, creating bespoke pieces for anybody that's looking for something different.
As a carpenter with over 15 years experience, I have always said I just wanted to set up my own workshop, be my own boss and make my own pieces.
I met my fiance a few years ago and told her about my ideas when we first got together and she was always supportive about the idea. The ideas were put into reality and she helped me wherever she could, when she could.
As a small workshop, we don't like to see anything going to waste, so we like to use as much of it as we can. We use hard and soft woods and we also use recycled timber.
We give it a new life by creating that special little piece.
We try to do all our work using traditional joints, rather then just gluing and screwing wood together.
We believe when you buy something, it should last you a life time, and that is what we try to achieve.
I make anything for all occasions including Weddings, Birthdays, Christenings E.T.C.
