The Village - The village is located 14 kilometers from the town of Clonmel and six miles from the town of Cahir. Ardfinnan is a quite rural village set in one of the most beautiful countryside areas in Ireland. Ard Fhionan (Ardfinnan) (The village of the Heights) named after St. Finnan who founded a leper colony just outside the village. It is also one of the main crossing points on the River Suir.

This village is definitely worth a detour from the main travel routes. The parish of Ardfinnan is made up of three areas, Ardfinnan, Ballybacon, & Grange.
