Fireback installation & replacement - Cracked of damaged firebacks can allow smoke seep into the chimney stack and into bedrooms or attic spaces. This is a CARBON-MONOXIDE HAZARD which should be repaired.There are many steps you can take to make your fire burn as efficiently as possible to get the most heat for your euro. While some of these can be costly, there is one step you can take that doesn’t cost the earth. You can have a fireback installed or a damaged one replaced.
Here at DS Chimney sweep we can replace your cracked fireback with a new one. We will carry out the job carefully, competently, and at a very competitive price. If you want the job done right, you can count on us. A fireback that has been installed as a D.I.Y job or by an unqualified person may be less than 25% efficient
Crow guards & cowls - Chimney crow guards/cowls prevent unwanted birds from entering your chimney. This particular guard is galvanised for increased strength, will fit various chimney pots and requires no extra fixings as it is naturally held in place by the sprung steel once pushed inside. We offer supply and fit for this service.
CCTV inspection - A chimney camera inspection of a flue will enable us to detect the existence of many problems. Problems such as breaches in the flue wall, blockages from poorly installed liners, bird's nests, fallen debris or damage to the mid-feathers, damage from the chimney not be cleaned etc. Once we find the problem we can fix it for you.
Birds nest removal - We will carefully inspect the nest to make sure it is empty of eggs and birds. Spray the nest with an antibacterial spray. Once dry, remove the nest and dispose of it in a securely sealed container or exterior trash bag.
