Artist Blacksmith Eric O'Neill.

I have been working with steel for the past 25 years, in various applications. I have immersed myself in the craft of the blacksmith since 2008.

To work with the five elements, releases a great energy, and sense of self fulfilment, the elements being: thought, earth, fire, water and air. To create a piece of work by controlling these elements and seeing a lifeless material transformed to show its character and its inner beauty, is the reason why this great craft is seeing a worldwide resurgence.

I currently share my skills by providing a number of blacksmith courses, either at my own forge in Killuragh Co. Limerick, or through the Limerick County VEC, where I’m currently teaching at a number of outlets. Most courses are aimed at the novice or intermediate smith and offer a good grounding in the fundamentals of blacksmithing.

There are no boundaries for a creative imagination and developing ones skill set to match.
